My Biography

Singer, songwriter, guitarist Bob Grover has written more than 150 songs spanning nearly three decades. His music transports you to the world of country and blues with the nostalgic sound of the fifties mixed in. Listening to Bob brings to mind the musical genius of such artists as Bob Seger and B.B. King.

Bob Grover performs his repertoire of original pieces with a rich husky voice and upbeat mesmerizing tempo. He writes from the heart about love and relationships, and he sings with an emotional flavor that is all his own. His soulful and self-revealing lyrics will keep you hungry for more.

Bob spent his early years in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, an idyllic town nestled at the juncture of Grand River and Spring Brook. He is still very much attached to small town America, and that homespun flavor is rooted in his compositions.

Right from the start, Bob knew music was his calling. He would sing along with tapes of Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, and Ricky Nelson and would be the main attraction at family gatherings and neighborhood parties. He performed often at his church, inspired by the high energy of gospel music.

As a teen, Bob started composing songs. In 1979, he joined a band called the Mustangs, traveling the Great Lakes region and introducing new fans to his brand of music. He also performed with songwriter, Johnny Meeler (My Never Ending Love for You).

In his early twenties, Bob moved to Vermont with his family. Always ambitious, he formed a three piece band – Country Cadillacs – which grew to include eight musicians. In time, he organized other bands – Reverse Spin, Bob Grover Band, Bobby G & Soul.

His love for music continued as he played throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, and upper New York for fifteen years. Bob delighted thousands of guests at clubs, bars, halls, and anywhere people would gather to hear good music. For awhile, he was working six nights a week.

In 1993, Bob wrote and produced his first album, Must Be Love, which sold over 500 copies in less than two months. Encouraged by his success, he recorded a second album, The Flame, a collection of thirteen original songs.

Bob Grover now calls upstate New York his home. He has just released The Flame and is concentrating on his third album.
